Peter Brann Provides Expert Commentary on Paramount-Warner Bros. Merger
Partner Peter Brann recently provided expert commentary to Harvard Law Today and LiveNOW from FOX on the proposed $111 billion merger between Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. and the antitrust challenges facing the deal.
In an interview with Harvard Law Today, Peter discussed the lawsuit brought by 12 states seeking to block the merger, the history and growing role of state antitrust enforcement, and the importance of how courts define the relevant market in evaluating potential antitrust violations. He also explained why approval from the U.S. Department of Justice does not necessarily mean a merger is free to proceed, noting that state attorneys general can continue to challenge transactions they believe may harm competition or consumers.
Peter also spoke with LiveNOW from FOX following Paramount’s decision to delay the merger amid ongoing legal challenges. His comments offered perspective on the latest developments and the potential legal implications for one of the largest media deals in history.
