Kevin Haley Presents at Maine State Bar Association’s Summer Conference

Category: ,

Kevin Haley was invited to present at the Maine State Bar Association’s 2025 Summer Bar Conference in Bar Harbor this July. His session, “The Business and Ethics of Law Firm Withdrawal” was well attended and evoked great discussion among the audience.

Kevin explained four key areas to focus on when lawyers leave law firms: business operations, personnel, legal and governance compliance, and ethical rules. He dove into best practices for each, as well as the associated Maine bar rules. He emphasized that rules are structured to make sure that the clients get the benefit of the protections of the bar rules, a key organizing principal behind the ethical rules governing withdrawals.

Kevin’s practice includes corporate law, commercial transactions, trademark and copyright matters, privacy and data security counseling. He works closely with businesses in Maine and around the country on corporate issues, including organization and strategy, mergers and acquisitions, commercial lending, and other commercial transactional matters.
