Hanna Wurgaft Named Partner at Brann & Isaacson

Category:

Brann & Isaacson, a law firm with offices in both Lewiston and Portland, has announced that Hanna Wurgaft has been made a partner of the firm. Hanna has been with Brann & Isaacson for six years and advises clients on labor and employment law, education and municipal law, and litigation.

Over the past six years, Hanna has built a statewide reputation representing employers and educational institutions in complex employment and education law matters, including compliance counseling, workplace investigations, and litigation. Her practice includes advising clients on sensitive personnel issues, conducting and overseeing Title IX and other investigations, and representing organizations before administrative agencies and in court.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the mentorship and support I’ve received at Brann & Isaacson over the years,” said Hanna of the promotion. “Becoming a partner is a meaningful milestone, and it reflects not only my own growth, but the investment the firm makes in developing its lawyers. I’m excited to continue serving our clients and contributing to B&I’s future growth.”

Hanna first moved to Maine to study at Bowdoin College. It was at Bowdoin that she became acquainted with B&I through the late George Isaacson, who taught at Bowdoin and was a senior partner at B&I. “Professor” Isaacson inspired Hanna to pursue a legal career in Maine.

In addition to her legal practice, Hanna is actively involved in the state and local community. She is currently a participant in the Maine State Bar Association’s Leadership Academy, a selective program for emerging leaders in the profession. She previously served on the board of the Trinity Jubilee Center in Lewiston, a nonprofit providing food access and support services to the region. She has also served as chair and vice chair of the Maine Council of School Board Attorneys, and as a board member for the Central Maine Human Resources Association.

Hanna lives in Saco with her husband and dog, Sprout. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, including hiking, skiing, and getting out on the water.
