Michael Carey

Michael Carey focuses his practice on state and local taxation of information technology and telecommunications services, civil litigation, and regulatory and administrative proceedings.

Mike served four terms in the Maine State Legislature where he served on the Appropriations and Financial Affairs Committee, the Transportation Committee, the Veterans and Legal Affairs Committee, the Special Committee for Maine’s Energy Future, and the Special Committee for Regulatory Reform. Mike has worked for a national information technology consulting company and for a local real estate developer. Through his service in the Maine Legislature and on the boards of many non-profit organizations, Mike has built a deep understanding of organizational governance and strategy.

Fluent in Norwegian, Mike lived and studied in Norway in both high school and college. Mike was a varsity member of the Dartmouth College Nordic Ski Team, where he won the Coach’s Award.
