Kevin Haley

Kevin Haley’s practice includes corporate law, commercial transactions, trademark and copyright matters, privacy and data security counseling. He works closely with businesses in Maine and around the country on corporate issues, including organization and strategy, mergers and acquisitions, commercial lending, and other commercial transactional matters. Kevin has a particular expertise in commercial transactions common in the catalog and online retail space, including licensing, all manner of online advertising, print, paper, and traditional advertising.

Kevin advises clients on trademark and copyright issues, including strategies for identifying and protecting intellectual property as well as dealing with claims of infringement. In any client matter, Kevin’s first priority is to help the client identify and then achieve its critical business outcome—developing and executing strategies tailored to that purpose.

Kevin is a leader in the catalog and online merchant community, serving as counsel to the New England Mail Order Association (NEMOA). He handles trademark and marketing issues for L.L. Bean, Inc. He is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of Maine School of Law, teaching and guest lecturing on issues relating to trademarks, unfair competition, and internet law. Kevin has written and spoken extensively on matters relating to his areas of practice before both legal and business groups.
