Daniel Nuzzi

Dan directs the firm’s general litigation practice, handling complex business litigation matters in numerous state and federal courts, as well as before administrative agencies. He has tried to jury verdict or final judgment several multi–million dollar cases. His varied practice includes employment, class–action, contractual, construction, real estate, product liability, copyright, and commercial and corporate law cases.

In addition to his active litigation practice, Dan counsels clients with respect to matters of corporate and regulatory compliance including international trade, product and food safety, labeling and regulatory matters involving the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Federal Trade Commission, the Consumer Product Safety Commission, and the Food and Drug Administration.

Outside of the practice of law, Dan is active in the music and arts fields, as a performer, composer, and involved contributor. In the distant past, Dan has shared the stage with the likes of Steppenwolf, The J. Geils Band, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, Robin Lane and the Chartbusters, John Payne, and others.

Recent Experience

Following six-day trial, obtained significant victory for Dan’s client, a large Maine business involved in a commercial dispute involving breaches of fiduciary duty and corporate dissolution.

Obtained full victory arising from dispute involving interpretation of family trust, prevailing at trial level, and in two appeals to the Maine Supreme Judicial Court.

Prevailed in week-long First Amendment jury trial for a Maine School District which garnered national press.  

Obtained defense verdict in jury trial in multi–million-dollar joint venture dispute.

Obtained dismissal in federal court class action representative’s WARN Act claim based on lack of standing.

Obtained summary judgment on claim for consequential damages of over $20 million.

Obtained injunction against online business competitor for wrongful copying and publication of copyrighted articles.
